Theme for SY 2026-2027

KP Mark del Rosario

Jul 27, 2026

Our theme for the year is "Growing in Kindness: Rooted in God's Grace and Wisdom".

What does it mean to be kind?

It's more than “niceness”. Scripture teaches that genuine kindness is a fruit of the Holy Spirit that grows in us as we root ourselves in Christ (Gal 5:22; Col 2:7).  This God-given kindness is one we give because we experience it first, flowing directly from the grace we've already received through salvation (Eph 2:8-10).

Not only is it rooted in God’s grace, it is also grown from wisdom. James 3:17 reminds us that heavenly wisdom is full of mercy shown in how we treat others, one that aims for restoration and forgiveness as Christ gave us (Eph 4:32).

At its heart, kindness means doing for others what God did for us: being the first to help, the first to forgive, the first to restore, and the first to make peace, even at great cost. This is exactly what we see at the cross. God acted first, dying for us while we were still sinners (Rom 5:8) to reconcile us to Himself (Col 1:20) even at the greatest cost. And because He loved us first, we're called to love others the same way (1 John 4:19).

This year, let’s actively be kind together!
